Three of our players attended this
competition, Richard Black, Martin Bull and Neil Green.
Richard: 7 Wins 0 Loss - Gold
Richard actually took two Gold
Medals on the day, one for his own age group and the other in the open age
group. He had 6 Ippon wins (maximum score) and one Wazari win and not one score
against him, a truly stunning display of judo. Richard only returned to
competitive judo this year after a 10 year "rest" and is now a real
force in British Masters Judo.
Martin: 2 Wins 1 Loss - Silver
Martin had a slightly slow start but
bounced back in fine style to take two superb victories and the Silver Medal.
Like Richard, Martin has really found his feet in Masters Judo and is peforming
extremely well.
Neil: 0 Wins 2 Losses - Bronze
This was Neil's return to
competitive judo afer a very long "rest" (or should that be coma -
sorry Neil). It takes some time to get back into the swing of competition judo,
but I have no doubt that after a couple more outings Neil will be taking many
victories in Masters Judo.
Well done to all three of you, it is
great to see that our club can win medals from the very
youngest through to the errrrmmm "more
senior" of players - fantastic!
