Monday, 28 April 2008
Hi All,

On Sunday we had 7 players attend the Peterborough U20 Championships - Sam Barker, Jake Barker, Joe Moore, Rachael Daniels, Zoe Camp, Sophie Daniels, Joony Pettinger.

Sam: 2 Wins 2 Losses - Silver
2 fine wins from Sam in a strong group of lads. The last two weekends have seen a big improvement in Sam's competition performances.

Jake: 0 Wins 3 Losses - Bronze
Jake really should have won his first contest and only lost because of a silly mistake. Like his brother, Jake too is adapting well to this level of competition.

Joe: 0 Wins 2 Losses
Sadly no wins for Joe, but as always he is out there giving it a go with a smile on his face!!

Zoe (Junior section): 3 Wins 1 Loss - Gold
Zoe (Youth section): 2 Wins 2 Losses - Silver
Apart from a bit of a slow start, a very good days judo from Zoe who adapted particularly well to the level of competition in the youth section.

Rachael (Junior section): 3 Wins 0 Loss - Gold
Rachael (Youth section): 2 Wins 2 Losses) - Bronze
Rachael coasted through the junior section and was involved in some great battles in the youth section against some very high level oppostion.

Sophie: 4 Wins 0 Loss - Gold
Sophie was using this competition as a warm up for next weekends British Open Championships and looked in sparkling form as she tried out some new techniques.

Jonny (Junior section): 2 Wins 1 Loss - Silver
Jonny (Youth section): 0 Wins 2 Losses
A good days judo from Jonny in what is always one of the toughest group of lads. It was quite evident yesterday that Jonny's hard work in training is really starting to pay off.

Some of the medal awards yesterday got rather confusing as the organisers combined various weight groups, but the important thing for me as Coach is "performances" not medals and our players once again produced some great judo thoughout the day. Well done to you all.

Regards,

Allen.
