High Wycombe NHC Age
Banded – 10/12/07
Hi All,
We had 9 players got to the NHC Age Banded Tournament in High Wycombe at the
weekend - Alex Jackson, Eleanor Bass, Sam Barker, Jake Barker, Theo Lawson, Zoe
Camp, Joe Moore, Jon Pettinger & Turner Davis.
Alex - 0 Wins 2 Losses. Alex is struggling to gain a win at
this higher level of competition, but it is only a matter of time before he
does judging by his performances in training.
Eleanor - 0 Wins 2 Losses. Ellie was the baby of the group in
terms of age and grade, but put up a spirited display of judo against some good
opposition.
Sam - 0 Wins 2 Losses. Found it difficult in a very
competitive group of lads, but will return to winning ways pretty soon I'm
sure.
Jake - 1 Win 2 Losses. Like his brother, found the opposition
very strong on the day, but still put up a good performance.
Theo - 1 Win 2 Losses. Open grade tournaments are looking a
little bit of a step too far at the moment, but the experience and a good win
will have done Theo the world of good.
Zoe - 1 Win 2 Losses, Bronze Medal. Zoe put
up a strong display to gain a good win and two very narrow defeats. A worthy
Bronze Medal.
Joe - 0 Wins 2 Losses. A gutsy display from Joe, but like
several of our other players, the opposition was just too good on the day.
Jonny - 3 Wins 1 Loss, Bronze Medal. Another
very strong performance from Jonny in a top class field of lads, only loosing
out to the National Silver Medallist.
Turner - 1 Win 2 Losses. Turner put in some creditable
performances and did well to pick up a win in this company.
Two of our regular visitors to the Club, Tim & Richard Frost were also in
attendance - Tim taking the Gold Medal and Richard the Bronze
in two tough weight groups. Excellent performance guys, well done.
This was a harder competition than I had expected, with just about every
weight/age category having several British Squad players in it. Although
several of our players were a little out of their depth, they were all a
credit to themselves and the Club. I'm sure next year we will come back with a
much stronger squad and increase the medal tally significantly!!!!
Regards,
Allen.
